Association Akira is a non-profit dog shelter based in Benissa, formally known as “AKIRA Protectora de Animales Teulada y Benissa”.

Since 2011, we are dedicated to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming abandoned and mistreated dogs in the area Benissa, Teulada and Moraira.

Our mission is simple: to provide safety, care, and a real chance for a happy home to every dog that comes to us.

We have the capacity to take in a maximum of 50 dogs, and these dogs generally have been found wandering the streets. However, we occasionally take in dogs  where the owners are no longer able to keep them, for example in case they are very ill or deceased.
